Anime merch

I realized that I never showed you what I got from Animecon. Though I got just two things. Why? Well, I've always known that the items there have a lot of added cost to them (vendors travelling expense, table cost etc) but only now that I've bought a bunch of anime related stuff from the internet, I've really realized how big the price difference is: something can be 5€ on ebay and 25€ at cons. So with that in mind, I told myself that I could get small souvenirs, but nothing expensive as I could get it a lot cheaper if it's something I really would want.

So, my first purchase was this mug. My reasoning? Mugs can easily break when they have to travel half way across the globe to get to me. This was about 10€, I can't remember anymore. And why DBZ? Because we both love it, it was a good thing to buy for both of us to use. There were lots of cool ones (and I almost bought a Hobbit one too) but I decided on this one.

Second thing was this Kuroshitsuji poster. My reasoning? 'Cos I wanted it :D Now when it comes to Kuro merch, usually they have a lady Ciel, only Sebastian or lovey-dovey blushing Ciel with or without Sebastian. And since I heavily do NOT ship it, I can't stand those posters / you name it, and this kind of cool Ciel pose is rarer and harder to find. Not impossible, but rare enough that I bought it when I saw it. And why it's hanging in front of my window? ... I kinda didn't realize how big it actually was, and I didn't have the wall space for it x( So it hangs there! 

Anyway, I ordered some new animu things and will wait for their arrival and maybe show them at some point ^^'

Anime feelings

No lolita video this week because I was super busy with work and book things, sorry!

Every now and then I invite friends over and we eat, drink tea and watch anime. Lots of anime. It's a good way to have something new introduced (since everyone makes suggestions what we watch, majority decides) and a good excuse to watch something that we've been putting off. It always fun to have your brain melted with a day of anime and have silly conversations in good company. We had such a night a while ago, and I though that since I haven't written about anime in a while, why not pour my animu pondering here :D

Gangsta. A friend has been telling me to watch this but I've put it off, and when we watched the first two episodes, I was hooked. The violence, darkness, blood and simple coolness of the show made me fall in love instantly. Can I just say how much I love Nicolas? He alone is worth watching. Plus the (Japanese) voice actors make me want to just listen to this on the background as I do other things. I'm now on episode 9 and will definitely keep watching, I like how the story is evolving.

Legend of Korra. Hmm. I loved the original Airbender story a lot and have watched it about five times + listen to the OST all the time. I just loved the characters, developing plot and how the elements and bending were explained. In Korra I don't care about the Avatar, I really dislike the technology (cars wtf), I don't care about the love shenanigans and the main bad guy is really meh for me. I watched the first season but won't watch the rest. Not the worst anime ever, but I have no interest in it. :/

Death Parade is a nice mind fuck series! The first episode got my attention and by the fifth, it had my interest. Again lovely voice acting, I like how the main story is evolving and how small things are revealed one by one. I haven't completely finished it yet but will.

Like every one else, I watched Tokyo Ghoul. Again recommended by a friend and a perfect match, I watched both seasons. I liked the original setting, how it evolved to Kaneki being torn apart by his both sides and toward the second season, descending into madness. Sweet, sweet madness. The gore and grittiness (and the earworm, I wore headphones and my that was creepy <3) spoke to me, I don't know what it is about these shows that I love so much xD

In the vein of wtf did I just watch, how about Parasyte? I can understand why this seems really gross to some people (looking at you Arkada, love your videos) but I again found it interesting and cool :D A bunch of alien parasytes invade Earth, eat people and can transform to them. Yay. The main character has an alien take over his right hand, and as the show progresses, he learns to live with Migi and co-operate with him to battle the other aliens. People die, superpowers develop and character growth happens. The last episode was unnecessary, but other than that, there was pretty much no fillers and I really loved the show. Will watch again someday.

Oremonogatari. I really loved Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and have re-watched it a couple of times now, and when we started watching this, two minutes in I knew this would really hit my humour vein. And it did. Nice, fun and harmless adventures in a slife-of-life kinda show. This is good counter balance for my bloody and gritty stuff :D 

Let's wrap up with something fluffy, shall we? For nostalgia reasons, I had to watch Junjou Romantica. And some earlier episodes, since it has been so long I watched them. And it was what I expected it to be ^^' Again good fluff to watch between having to watch your right hand slice someone's head off or deciding if someone deserves second chance at life based on a short test and botching it badly.  (old photo I know I'm too lazy okay)

Aand that was my anime rant for now, I'll post something more interesting next time :D

Animecon

Yet another convention :D I had fun, met old and new friends, spent a bit of money on animu  merch (not too much but enough to get souveniers). I was quite lazy with my camera, I take less and less photos every year. I don't really have energy to write a lot, so here are a bunch of photos ^^

Saturday coord, I wanted comfy lolita that I don't mind wearing if I bump into someone in body paint.

Sunday con outfit, I went for a lazy I-know-it's-not-accurate kimono. The shoes were actually quite good to walk with :D

Sunday evening coord, I wore this to movies (Avengers, seen it twice now, still good) becauce I didn't feel like wearing a kimono all day. Poor photo due to dark con area, I have a better one but it has friends in it so I won't put it here, sorry...

Anime music quiz! We knew next to nothing, still fun though x3

Aside from the quiz and haunted house, we didn't really participate to the panels  - except for the cosplay shows, which we watched both days. It was really awesome, but we were on the second-to-last row so the few photos I took are pretty useless :/ They also showed CMVs! I had no idea that they were a thing that existed (I've seen AMVs but didn't know there were cosplay ones). Some were a bit meh but two were really good: Shingeki one with really good costumes, plot, editing and the feeels ; the other was a very silly Free! one that made me smile ^^ Tears and joy, brought to you by cosplay! I want to get more into these.

Holiday~

I have next week off! So much time to do all kinds of things ~ A JSK tutorial for one thing. And I want to read! I've bought so many books but haven't really had time to read all of them (maybe an hour a day, I prefer to read for hours so I get really immersed to the story) so I have catching up to do. I bought the Mazerunner box because I've read the 13th Reality from Dasher as well, and they were awesome. I hope these are too. Maybe I'll take photos and list everything I've got lately but for now I'm too tired ^^'

And lastly, our tickets to Animecon have arrived! ^^ My cosplay (or character inspired outfit, I'm not even trying 100% accuracy) is going along nicely, I ordered the shoes I'll need so they'll be here on time :D I still have to plan my lolita coord, or maybe wear kodona? Luckily there's still time!

Anime favourites of the season

Tylsä animepostaus, saa ohittaa jos niin haluaa ^^ Selittelen vähän mitä sarjoja katson tällä hetkellä ja miksi pidän niistä.

A boring anime post, you can skip this if you wish ^^ I talk a bit about what I watch now and why I like them.

Aloitetaan vaikka raskaasta päästä? Tokyo Ghoul kertoo pojasta, joka vähän aikaa sitten oli ihminen, mutta häneen siirretään ghoulin elimiä ja nyt hän voi elämää molempien elämää. Sarjassa on paljon verta, välivaltaa, pahuutta ja inhottavia asioita mitkä ruokkii poikamaista puoltani. Ensimmäisen ja toisen jakson toivottomuus tuntuu todella aidolta.

Lets start with the heaviest, shall we? Tokyo Ghoul is about a boy, who was a human but had ghoul organs transplanted to him and now can live in both worlds. This has a lot of blood, violence and everything nasty and evil that feeds my tomboy heart. The hopelessness of the first or two episodes really feels real.

Toinen tämän kauden sarjoista on niin hupsu että rakastan sitä xD Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun kertoo ytöstä, joka on rakastunut shoujo-mangaa piirtävään poikaan, ja he tapaavat kaikenlaisia outoja ihmisiä ja tekevät hassuja juttuja. Tämä on aika slice of life -tyylinen sarja, mitään ei oikeasti tapahdu mutta silti nauraa räkätän jokaista jaksoa. Tämä on hyvä kevyt "nollaus"sarja kaiken raskaamman animen ja kauhuleffojen välillä.

Second pick of the season is a show so silly I love it xD Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is about a girl who is in love in a boy who writes shoujo manga, and they meet all kinds of crazy people and do silly things. It a pretty slice of life kind show, nothing really happens but I laugh my ass off every episode. This is a good "palette-cleanser" between heavier shows and horror movies and all the other things I love.

Rakastan Sword Art Onlinea niin paljon (lonkeropornoineen ja "rakastan sua oniichan" ja muine sotkuine päivineen) joten odotin toiselta kaudelta paaaljon. Räiskinnät eivät kuitenkaan ole mun juttu, ja kolme jaksoa katsottuani sarja alkaa jotenkin hitaasti eikä ole ihan mitä odotin. Sillä on hyvät puolensa, mutta odotan että kaikki jaksot tulevat ja maratoonaan sarjan kerralla - ehkä saan siitä enemmän irti sillä tavalla. Mielenkiintoinen, aion katsoa, mutta myöhemmin.

I love Sword Art Online so much (even with the tentacle porn and "I love my oniichan" and all the other hot mess) so I had biiig hopes for the second season. However, shooters are not my thing, and having watched three episodes, the show just starts slowly and isn't quite what I expected. It has its points, but I'll wait that it's complete to marathon the rest - maybe it will make more sense to me that way. Interesting, will watch, but I'll finish it later.

Ja taas toiseen ääripäähän! Love Stage kertoo näyttelijästä joka rakastuu tyttöön kun he ovat vielä lapsia ja pitää tyttöä sydämessään. Kun hänelle vuosia myöjemmin selviää että hänen unelmiensa tyttö onkin poika, hän ei muuta mieltään - mutta tunteiden kohde ei tunne samoin. Mun mielestä sarjan parhautta on sen täysi pöhköys ja sivuhenkilöt (Shougo~!), kun (spoiler alert) romanssi ei oikein etene mihinkään. Jälleen kevyt, hupsu ja lyhyt sarja.

And again to the other end of the spectrum! Love Stage is about an actor who falls in love with a cute girl when they're still kids, and holds on to the crush. When he years later finds out the girls of his dream is a boy, he won't change his mind - but the cute boy doesn't feel the same. To me the best parts are the simple silliness and the side characters (Shougo~!), as the (spoiler alert) romance isn't quite going anywhere. Again a silly light-hearted, short show.

Kyokai No Kanata on vähän vanhempi sarja, mutta on yksi kaikkien aikojen lemppareistani. Sarja kertoo demoista jotka elävät ihmisten keskellä, ja se on täynnä actionia, käänteitä, upeita hahmoja ja siinä on vain yksi (todella hauska) filleri - kaikki muu on nopeatempoista mahtavuutta. Upea sarja, katson uudelleen.

Kyokai no Kanata is a bit older show, but it's one of my all-time favourites. It's about demons living among humans, it's full of action, twists, awesome characters and has only one (hilarious) filler episode - all the rest is fast-pased awesomeness. Ten out of ten will watch again.

Animecon 3/3 Sunday

Sunnuntaina ulkona oli viileämpi sää (välillä jopa satoi) mutta tiesin, että conitalossa oli aivan yhtä tukalaa kuin lauantainakin, joten kevyellä vaatetuksella mentiin. 

On Sunday the weather was cooler (it even rained a bit) but I knew that the inside of the convention hall would be just as awful as Saturday, so I dressed lightly.

Paita Seppälä, hame Taobao, kameralaukku kirpparilta (sinne meni tasan puhelin, kamera ja seteleitä), kengät kirpparilta. Lolita olisi ollut liian kuuma mutta hain siitä inspiraatiota ja päädyin jonkinlaiseen steampunkkia hapuilevaan välimaastoon. 

Shirt Seppälä, skirt Taobao, camerabag from flea market (it holds only my phone, camera and money), shoes second hand. Lolita would've been too hot but I drew inspiration from it, and I ended up between it and steampunk.

Huomatkaa taustan Ciel! Hän on sarjan lempihahmoni, ja Kuroshitsuji on yksi lempimangoistani (animen eka kausi oli hyvä, odotan innolla uutta animea).

Notice Ciel in the background! He is my favourite character, and Kuroshitsuji is one of my favourite mangas (the first season of the anime was good, and I can't wait for the new anime).

Ihan yhtä paljon populaa kuin lauantainakin.

I could see this duos wigs from a far and when I finally caught them, it was on a staircase so a partial photo it is... But this is quite the mighty duo :D

Kaveri käski juoksemaan heidän perään, en muista sarjaa mutta todella hieno ryhmäcossi. Muita kuvia en sitten conista oikein ottanutkaan. Ne harvat paneelit mitä olisin halunnut kuunnella, olivat täynnä... En kuitenkaan halunnut jonottaa tuntikausia, joten en sitten käynyt kuuntelemassa mitään. Ensi conissa sitten, Traconissa!

Friend told me to run after them, I can't remember their show but this is a really awesome group cosplay. Other photos I didn't really take at the convention. Te few panel I would have liked to attend were full... I didn't want to stand in line for hours so I didn't listen to any of them. I will in the nect Convention, Tracon!

Conin jälkeen mentiin Matkukseen shoppailemaan. Yritin sielläkin tuhlata mahdollisimman vähän, mutta sain silti shoppailuhimon tyydytettyä ja uusia hienoja juttuja :D

After the convention we went to a shopping mall called Matkus. I tried to spend as little as possible in there as well, but I still managed to sate my shopping urge and got new cool things :D

And then the things I bought on Sunday!

Ainoa mitä conista ostin on tämä sormus. Se on Narutosta Deidaran sormus! Hän (ja Sasori ja Hidan ja Pain/Nagato) on mun lempi Akatsukihahmo + sormus on hieno vaikken tietäisi sarjasta mitään, joten se oli pakko saada. Se sopii juuri ja juuri oikeaan peukaloon mutta on liian suuri muihin sormiin, mutta ei se haittaa, pidän peukalosormuksista. Se maksoi 7,5€ niin tuli vähän syyllinen olo (koska mulla on MILJOONA korua) mutten silti kadu sitä.

The only thing I got from the convention is this ring. It's from Naruto, and it Deidaras ring! Ah, he (and Sasori and Hidan and Pain/Nagato) is my favourite Akatsuki member + the ring looks so cool even if I wouldn't know where it's from, so I had to have it. It fits my right thumb but is too big for every other finger, but that okay, I like wearing rings on my thumbs. It was 7,5€ so I felt a bit bad (since I have a TON of jewelry) but I still don't regret it.

Matkuksessa eka kauppa mihin mentiin oli New Yorker. Löysin sieltä vaikka mitä mitkä kuuluisi mun vaatekaappiin (kuten minion t-paidan ja puoliksi nahkaiset, puoliksi denim-minishortsit) mutta ostin vain nämä kympin housut. Ne sopii steampunkkiin, ja haluan lisää ruskeaa. Melkein ostin samat housut sinivalkoisina sailor-lookkiin, mutta mulla on sinivalkoraidallinen lyhyt kynähame, joten en voinut perustella niiden ostamista. Nämä ovat hienot ja yllättävän mukavat venyvän kankaan ansiosta.

At the mall the first store I went to was New Yorker. I found many cool things that belonged in my wardrobe (like a minion t-shirt and half-leather-half-denim mini shorts) but only bought these pants for ten euros. They go with steampunk, and I want more brown in my closet. I almost bought the same pants but in white and blue for a sailor look, but i have a white and blue short pencil skirt so I couldn't justify the purchase. Still, these are very cool and surprisingly comfy with the stretchy fabric.

Expressionsista ostin hiusjuttuja ja rannekorun. Siellä oli tosi paljon upeita koruja mutta kun mulla edelleen on niitä paljon, en viitsinyt ostaa. Kaiken tämän sain vähän alle kympillä, ja lemppari on mustavalkoinen hiusruusu. Se on massiivisen iso, hyvä OTT gothiciin :D Tarvitsen lisää valkoista niin valkoinen hiuskukka eksyi mukaan, samoin kuin simppeli musta panta. Siinä on nätti cameo niin se ei ole liian tylsä, mutta on tarpeeksi tavallisen simppeleihin koordeihin. Ranneke on harvinaisuus, koska se on tarpeeksi pieni mun kapoiselle ranteelle eikä siis putoa heti pois! Nyppään kyllä blingin kiven pois ja liimaan jotain muuta (helmen?) tilalle.

From Expressions I bought hair thingies and a bracelet. There were tons of cool jewelry but again, I have too many. All this cost just under ten euros, and my favourite is the black and white rose. It's massively big, good for OTT gothic :D I need more white so a white hair flower got in bag as well, as did a simple black hair band. It has a pretty cameo in it so it's not totally boring, but it's demure enough for simpler coordinations. The white wrist bangle is a rarity, as it's small enough for my tiny wrist and doesn't fall off! I'll take the rhinestone off though and put something else (a pearl?) in its place.

Jaaa mainitsinko että mulla on liikaa koruja? Oh, niinkö? Mutta tämä oli vain kolme euroa ja mulla on tosi vähän rannejuttuja koko-ongelman takia, ja rakastan sen sinisyyttä ~ Kyllä se oli perusteluni, kestäkää se. Helmipanta on Ninjasta neljällä (viidellä?) eurolla. Sen verran simppeli että olisin voinut tehdä tällaisen itsekin, mutta joskus on vain helpompaa ostaa valmista, etenkin jos se on halpaa.

Aaand did I mention too much jewelry? Oh, did I? But this was only three euros and I really lack wrist wear since my wrists are so tiny, and I love the blue that goes through it ~ Yes that's my justification, live with it. The pearl head band is from Ninja for four (five?) euros. Simple enough to make it myself but sometimes it's just easier to buy it, especially if it's cheap.

Mulla on ihan liikaa shifonkisia paitoja ja printtipaitoja, mutta tämä maksoi Carlingsilla vain kympin niin sorruin... Näyttää upealta.

I have way too many chiffon shirts and too many print shirts, but this was only ten euros at Carlings so I caved in... Looks awesome.

Olen tainnut valittaa kenkienkin määrästä, mutta nämä olivat vitosen per pari Dinskosta. Ruskeat käyvät steampunkkiin ja ehkä kodonaan, ja niillä on hyvä kävellä. Näitä liiloja, oi mä kuolasin näitä kun ne maksoivat 45 euroa, mutta onneksi odotin! Nämä ovat uskomattoman mukavat ja niin nätit ~ toinen rusetti on vähän vimpula kuljetuksen jäljiltä, mutta saan sen kyllä nätiksi taas.

I think I've complained about too many shoes as well, but these were five euros a pair from Dinsko. The brown ones are good for steampunk and maybe kodona, plus they're good to walk with. These purple pumps however, oh, I yearned after them when they were full price (45€) but luckily I waited! These are amazingly comfy and look so pretty ~ the other bow is a bit wonky from travel but I'll straighten it up.

Kaiken kaikkiaan yritin olla pihi ja tuhlasin yhteensä alle 150€, siihen kuuluu matkadiesel, syömingit ja shoppailu. Olen ylpeä itsestäni! Ja mulla oli hirmu kivaa, plus mulla on paljon kuvia ja kivoja juttuja minkä avulla voin muistella conia ja koko reissua. <3

All in all I tried to be stingy with my money, and managed to spend under 150€ total, including travel diesel, eating and shopping. I'm proud of myself! And had lots of fun, and have many photos and cool things to remember the convention and road trip by. <3
