Valentine's Meet

Hello ~ We had a lovely meet for Valentine's day! Why a meet? Because here ystävänpäivä literally means friend's day, so it's all about appreciating your friends, not about love and relationship like it's elsewhere. So  we gathered to eat good food and talk shit all nice and casual :D 

All of us brought food with us. I made heart shaped cupcakes with heart pokey-thingies (wow I'm too tired to use real words) for the occasion. The berries are boysenberries, the cupcakes are vegan (because one of us is vegan and I thought it's polite to bring vegan stuff) and the soy yoghourt was pomegranate flavoured so they were nice and fruity. Also chocolate cookies because chocolate is delicious. Dairy free because I want to eat them too.

And salmon pie, fish is food of the old Gods. Btw it took a long while of experimenting to find a good filling for a savory pie without cheese, but I've finally mastered one and keep making different flavors. Smoked salmon is best thus far, though veggie one and a bacon one are yummy too.

I wore my cat dress and since it was a more relaxed meet, I didn't cover my short and purple hair with a wig like I usually would. For some reason I look really smug here :'D Behold snacks, dipping veggies.

There were four of us (Maiju is behind the camera) because life happens and I think that we've never had a meet where everyone who wanted to come could. Maybe someday we'll have a meet with our whole yet small comm attending, that would be awesome <3

I've recently been baking a lot again, and it is NOT helping my goal to fit my Baby skirt to Hellocon. It was fine when I bought it, but now I need to lose 7cm from my waist before June to be able to wear it. Or alternatively mod the skirt. It seems more likely, but I will wear it to the tea party one way or the other :D

Dollhouse meet

Hi. Long time no lolita? I've been way too busy for my liking, but still managed to arrange one more meet-up for this year. Why? We have a new lady in our comm! I was super exited since the theme was first tea and then we went to a dollhouse exhibit (how much more lolita can you get come on) and most of us were supposed to attend. However two ladies had to cancel :/ Some day we will have a meet with everyone!

Anyway, we started by heading to Cafe Monarch. I had made a table reservation for seven people, but when we went there, we were given a four person table (we were ten minutes early and I thought we just had to wait) but in the end, we just stayed at that table. The waiter (who was very nice) didn't seem to understand I had a reservation even though I told so? And since one of us is vegan I had inquired beforehand of vegan options, and I was told there were several.However the menu had none? And when she ask about it, the (still very nice) waiter suggested omelet ^^' We did manage to get food and drinks which were delicious, but then the cafe closed early? I had a reservation for 90min and just before an hour had passed, the (still, very nice) waiter told us they will close in five minutes o__O So the overall experience was kinda "whaa..?" so I don't think I'll be going there again...

After eating we headed to the dollhouse exhibit, and it was so pretty! The lobby looked pretty too ~ 

I didn't want to lug my big camera with me and my phone is useless, so I thank my lovely ladies for these photos <3 The amount of details was stunning! There were older and newer dollhouses, enjoy ~

Can I just say that I love that it's time for jackets and coats? I love jackets and coats in lolita and ouji, and have thus gathered a small collection of them :D Here's the one I wore today, photo taken before I left the house (since I knew it would be pitch black by the time I got home, since winter). I did change my shoes at the last minute for a bit more classic style.

There was also some modern art at the museum :)  Let's end in a silly note? I'm still suuuper awkward when posing so I sometimes do silly things. Here's one.

I hope to see again next year and resume monthly meets, and one day have a meetup with everyone present! <3

Wine meet

We had another meetup, this time we went to Parainen and tasted some wines! Just tasted, not enough to get drunk :D We also said (a temporary) farewell to one of our lovely ladies, as she's going to study abroad. I wish you the best! <3 We already decided to have an old school meet once she gets back :D Can't wait!

I didn't take an outfit photo before I left home because my boyfriend was out and I hate having to hassle with a tripod and timer, so here is a quick photo. The sun had already set so the lighting wasn't the best, but I still kind of like the coord. And to keep it from being too  classic, I wore chandelier print socks. Sometimes it's fun to be pure classic, but I was feeling like I wanted to stay closer to home, gothic. It felt a bit odd to have my real hair (which is red again) since I'm so used to having to wear wigs to cover my blue / purple hair.

Excuse the minimal poof... My kitty Oliver peed on my petticoats so they were still wet from wash :( I was organizing my closet and let him jump in and sniff, and the moment I turned my back, he was peeing on the shelf with all my pettis in it... Oh well, I can wash them. And he's been a very well mannered kitty otherwise so I couldn't be mad with him for long. <3

Garden meet, photo heavy!

At long last we had a summer meetup! It's been a long while since I've been to a meetup that's not a get-together at someone's house, I think it was February. We used to have more active meets but we've all been busy lately, but hope to resume monthly meets!

We also have a new face to our meets! We met her at HelLoCon and she lives nearby, so naturally we welcomed her to our silly gatherings :D 

I hope we'll soon have a meetup where all of us "locals" can participate ^^

As I said it's been a while since I've been "out" in lolita, so I wanted to wear something fancy. I wanted to properly wear make-up for the longest of time, but since we were at a botanical garden and I'm allergic to pretty much anything that blooms, I didn't want to hurt my face any more than what the plants would do. So I just wore lipstick and hoped that my glasses would somewhat hide my eyes... I don't usually wear lipstick even though it's the only thing I can use, because I think it kind of needs at least some mascara as a friend to look nicer.

So there's quite a few here. I'm used to having one or two good ones (since I'm still so awkward before a camera and don't know what to do = I don't usually have that many photos of myself), I had a hard time choosing! 

I saw the field of cute little flowers and had the urge to sit in the middle of them. These were not planted for-show flowers, fear not!

I also realized you haven't seen this wig before. I wore it to Animecon, but I haven't uploaded those photos yet :D Lazy? Perhaps. I've sorted out most of the photos and will write about it soon ~

There was also an indoor greenhouse with a cafe, so we had a bite to eat and wondered on. In the warm and humid rooms it was a bit hard for me to breathe and I had a massive head ache in the evening (even though I took allergy medication), but the cooler rooms were better to roam ^^

Spot the monkey!

I actually like this coord better that I thought I would! So far my tries of non-gothic have turned out quite well, even though I don't know what category this one falls in to :D Dress is AatP, rest is offbrand or hand-made. I really love those green x black shoes, better seen on the shoe photo at the beginning: I want to make more coords around them ^^

And of course the company is what made it fun <3 Medli looks so adorable in her pink Baby dress ^^

Short

Here's a dark photo of my first ouji outfit ~ We had a mini meet with four people, we didn't take any outfit photos since it was a small thing. But this is a sneak peak to next month's boystyle!

To end in a random note, we talked about Rammstein and I had to listen to them as soon as I got home. Still love it. <3

Meetup

Hello! Yesterday we had a meetup for a lolita who came down here from Lapland (for other things as well, of course) and we took her to Turku castle. There was an exhibit of props from the movie Girl King (and some of her authentic stuff as well that were lent from Sweden) and it was really pretty <3

After the castle our group of four split up and I took Shadow to eat Chinese food. Then we re-grouped and went to my place, and I had a ton of food and baked goods ready ~

And somehow I forgot to take any other photos D: Our guest of honor had to catch a train so the schedule was a bit more rushed that our meetups normally are, so somehow I forgot... Oh well :/ I know this was a hasty "Yay we did things" post but since I don't have photos, I don't feel like writing a wall of text here to describe all we did. We had fun and that's the most important thing ^^
