Decorating a jacket

I received a very positive reaction for boystyle themed videos and will continue to do one every now and then, but for now, this is my last ouji video! I decorated a jacket, since jackets are very often used in kodona and ouji. 

I started out with a sale jacket for 5€ or 7€ from KappAhl, and added lace, buttons, decorative ribbon, chain and a brooch. Decorating like this is quite easy but since I had to hand sew everything, it took a while! So I suggest putting a good movie to the background so it won't get too tedious ^^' 

Boring buuu ~ Small details really do make a difference! The lace is a bit hard to see in the pictures, but will look good on person.

Aand a wrinkly close up of the buttons, lace, ribbon and chains. The brooch is detachable and I'll make a gold-black-red emblem one that I showed on the video, but I lack the clip to use to attach it to the jacket, so I'll do it later. You can also see my ... interesting hair on the video. I partly bleached it to get it bright again but I'll allow it to rest for a while before I kill it with purple.

Long time no nail photos! I made these black and gold ones and even though the quickly-snapped photo is a bit poor and blurry, I really like the nails. They're also getting quite long again, I'll soon have to file them down a bit...

Nail art tutorial

Hello, this weeks video is a bit different one: a nail art tutorial! Many of you commented about my nails and asked for tutorials, so I made one :D I show how to do the black and white version, but show the pink and white version as well to show you that this can work well with both gothic and sweet lolita. ^^

I went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron yesterday and it was awesome! We had to buy tickets beforehand because it was the first show, and somehow (even though I had already went and bought the ticket), I maganed to forget the whole movie. I had just taken a shower, had food and a movie in front of me when my friend texted me that she's headed to the theatre. I stared good solid five minutes at my phone before I realized what she was talking about; then I had to really be fast, I threw on some clothes and ran to my car. I managed to be barely on time looking very much like a hobo with my damp hair and mismatched clothes, but I made it in time and the movie was (again) AWESOME so I have no regrets :D I did feel like a fool for forgetting it in the first place, but oh well ^^'

Nail art tutorials?

So recently I've received a lot comments about my nails on Youtube (questions and compliments), so I made this short video where I ask this question: Would you be interested in nail art tutorials? If so, I can make them, but if not, there's not much point is there :D So comments will decide! If I do decide to make these kind of videos, they will not overtake the lolita content on my Youtube channel: I'll probably upload them about once a month and not on Wednesday. So some weeks there would be two videos..? If I do make these and want to make them more often, I'll dedicate a new channel to them. 

I used to take photos of my nails every time I did them, but for some reason I haven't done that in a while so I don't have photos of some designs I really liked, and that sucks. Now I don't have reference photos to have as a model to recreate them...

Anyway, here are some reference photos of the nail art I've done over the years so you get the idea. :)

New camera + other shoppings

Nyt mulla on kunnon kamera! Canon EOS 500 D jos jotain kiinnostaa tarkka nimi, mutta mulle pääasia on huima ero kuvanlaadussa :D Haluan tehdä enemmän videoitakin, ja nyt se on jopa mahdollista. Mutta sen pidemmittä puheitta, uudella kameralla räpsittyjä kuvia douzo ~

I have a proper camera now! It's Canon EOS 500 D if you're interested in the details, but the main thing is the massive quality difference in photos :D I also want to make more videos, and now it's actually doable. But without further ado, photos with the new camera douzo ~ 

Sydänlaukku kirpparilta. Se on juuri täydellisen sininen, joten ostin sen epäkäytännöllisedtä ja kovin sweetistä muodosta huolimatta, hintaakin kun oli huimat kaksi euroa.

A heart-shaped bag from flea market / thrift store. It's the perfect blue so I bought it despite of the unpractical and (oh so) sweet shape, after all the price was whopping two euros.

Vaaleat kengät. Haluan tätä väriä lisää, mutta mulla ei ole yhtäkään vaaleaa (edes valkoista) laukkua, apua pitää ostaa... Mutta nämä ovat nätit, vasen kenkä on inan pieni muttei tuntunut kalvavan lyhyellä matkalla, joten ihan ok kävellä.

Ivory/beige shoes. I want more of this colour, but I don't have a single ivory (or pure white) bag, oh no I have to buy one... But these are pretty, the left shoe is a touch small but it didn't seem to bother me on a short stroll, so they're ok to walk with.

Sukkiksia! Oi nä keskimmäiset on ebaystä ja ne on IHANAT! Niin gootit <3 Loput ostin Lindexin alesta, kaikki olivat -70% niin oli pakko... Vasen ylä: Haluan vihreää vaatekaappiini, ja näistä tulee kivasti pikkuisen vihreää + rakastan tartania. Nä on tosi paksut, hyvät talvea varten. Vasen ala: Liituraitaa! <3 Oikea ylä: Liilaa ja mustaa, en tiedä käytänkö näitä lolitassa mutta saatan vaikka käyttääkin. Ken tietää. :) Oikea ala: Valkoiset läpinäkyvät pitsipolvisukat. En tiedä tuleeko näillekään hirveästi käyttöä, mutta ne on hyvä silti olla kaapissa - vaikka kaiken varalta.

Stockings! Ah the middle ones are from ebay and I LOVE them! So gothic <3 The rest are from Lindex, they were on sale for -70% so I had to... Left top: I want some green to my wardrobe, and these a nice subtle touch + I love tartan. Very thick, good for winter. Left bottom: Pinstripe! <3 Right top: Purple and black, I don't know if I'll wear these with lolita but I might. Who knows. :) Right bottom: Knee-length see-through white lace socks. I don't know if I'll wear these much but they're nice to have around - even if just in case.

Tein pitkästä aikaa hienot kynnet! Viime aikoina olen laittanut vain yhtä väriä ja vaikka sekin on aika näyttävä näin pitkissä kynsissä, pidän silti tällaisista OTT lakkauksista. Näissä on hopeista glitterlakkaa pohjalla, musta raita keskellä ja liiloja kiviä sen ympärillä. Peukalonkynsi ei ole harmaa, top coattini on vain todella kiiltävää ja vaikka se näyttää livenä hyvältä, siitä on vaikeaa ottaa hyvää kuvaa xD Nämä muuten vilahtaa seuraavassa Lolita project -videossa, pätkä on kyllä lyhyt ja meh koska tämänkertainen aihe ei ollut mun juttu ^^'

And for the first time in forever (Frozen, I know, I apologize) I made cool nails! Lately I've just painted them with one color, and even though it looks striking with the length, I still prefer OTT nails. These have a silver glitter base, black stripe in the middle and purple gems around it. Thumb nail is not murky, my top coat is just really shiny and though it looks good in real life it's hard to take good photos of it xD You'll see these in the next Lolita project video, though the video is very short and blah because the theme really wasn't the best for me ^^'

Heissan! Tässä pikainen postaus päivän asustani. Pitkästä aikaa oli pilvistä ja tuulista, joten pistin heti mustan pitkähihaisen päälle :D 

Hello! Here's a quick post about my outfit of the day. It was the first cloudy and windy day for God knows how long, so I immediately wore a long sleeved black blouse :D 

Sain juuri tämän hameen valmiiksi, rakastan tuota sinistä kangasta samettipainatuksineen <3 Se on vain todella paksua (ja rypytin sitä eli se on todella paksua joistain kohdista) joten en taida päästä käyttämään sitä pian uudelleen. Tein tämän pitäen mielessä enemmän ariston kuin lolitan, mutta hame saatta sopia molempiin. Halusin super-korkeavyötäröisen hameen missä on lanteilla hieman rypytystä, ja onnistuin mielestäni hyvin. Kuva ei tee hameelle oikeutta - etenkin rypytys näyttää vähän hassulta - mutta otan lisää myöhemmin.

I just finished this skirt, I really love that blue fabric with the black velvet print <3 It's just really thick (and since I ruffled it it's REALLY thick at places) so I don't think I can wear it again soon. I made it more for aristocrat than lolita, but it may go for both. I wanted a super-high waisted skirt with a bit if ruffling at the hips, and I think I did well. The photo doesn't do it justice - especially the ruffles look a bit weird - but I'll take new photos.

Meet-up ^^

Tänään oli pitkästä aikaa miitti vähän isommalla (eli viiden hengen) porukalla. Ajatuksena oli mennä samaan kahvilaan mikä bongattiin Medlin kanssa ja käyskennellä Naantalissa. Aamulla kuitenkin satoi ja luvattiin tuulista ja vilpoista päivää... Suunnittelemani coordi oli lyhythihainen, mutta Medli lainasi minulle boleron ^^ Pitää itsekin hankkia tai tehdä pitkähihainen bolero, minulla kun on vain lyhythihaisia.

Today we had a meet-up with a slightly bigger company (of five) for a while. The plan was to go to the cafe we spotted with Medli and take a stroll around Naantali. But in the morning it rained and the forecast promised a chilly wind... The coor I had planned was a short sleeve, but Medli lent me a bolero ^^ I have to buy or make myself a long sleeved bolero, for I only have short sleeved ones.

Otettiin Medlin luona pari kuvaa ennen kuin suunnattiin Naantaliin. Hameen tein suunnilleen kuukausi sitten mutta hattua viimeistelin vielä aamulla xD Paita Taobao, kengät Bodyline, laukku ebay. Rakastan tuota laukkua, tilasin sen tähän coordiin mutta se sopii moneen muuhunkin.

We took a couple pictures at Medlis' before heading to Naantali. The skirt I made about a month ago, and the hat I finished that morning xD Blouse Taobao, shoes Bodyline, bag ebay. I really love that bag, and I bought it especially for this coord but it goes with many other things as well.

Cafe had a kitty! It sleeped the whole time though, only woke up to sneeze so I couldn't pet it ;__;

Kahvittelun jälkeen mentiin pihalle ja sade oli loppunut, huzaa!

After we ate we went outside and it had stopped raining, huzaa!

Hameen kangas poikkeaa aika paljon siitä mitä muuten omistan, mutta halusin jotain pehmeämpää ja nätimpää(?), ja tässä oli minun tutut värini niin en kokenut niin suurta kultturishokkia. Halusin myös pistää peruukin, liila tukkani ei ollut se paras tähän asuun... Taidan pitää leteistä.

The skirt fabric is quite different from ones I have, but I wanted something softer and prettier(?), and this had my familiar colors so it wasn't a too big cultural shock. I also wanted to wear a wig, my purple hair was not the best match for this outfit... I think I like braids.

Shorter for change

Lauantaina oli poikaystäväni pikkusiskon valmistujaiset. Menimme sinne kylään, ja uskalsin pistää lolitaa päälle. Heidän äitinsä on todella mukava lolitan suhteen, ihailee aina uusia ostamiani ja tekemiäni vaatteita. Olen tässä suhteessa onnekas enkä ota asiaa itsestäänselvyytenä. ^^

Saturday was the graduation of my boyfriends' little sister. We went for a visit, and I felt comfortable enough to wear lolita. Their mother is really cool about lolita, she's always adoring new things I've bought or made. I really count my blessings and don't take this for granted. ^^

Kyllä mulla on lyhyempiäkin hameita mitkä paljastaa polvet ;) Näitä ei vain tule niin usein käytettyä. Paita kirpparilta, liivi ebay, hame tuunattu, sukkikset Lindex. Kuva on melkoisen sumea, mutten ottanut kameraa mukaan niin tämä on ainoa kuva...

I do have shorter skirts that show my knees ;) I just don't wear them so often. Shirt second hand, vest ebay, skirt DIY, thights Lindex. The picture is a bit blurry, but I dind't take my camera with us so it's the only one...

Kynsissä alkaa olla jo melkoisesti pituutta, ihmettelen vähän miten selvisin inventaariosta katkaisematta näitä. 

My nails are starting to get really long, I wonder how i got through inventory without braking these.

Hello again! This post is about all kind of things I've managed to gather.

Alkuun asukuva. Kiire oli valtava joten puhuin kun kuvaa otettiin, siitä derp ilme.. Paita on kirpparilta, kuvaa on pari postausta sitten mutta tältä se näyttää päällä. Hame on ensimmäisiä itse tekemiäni ,mutta siitä ei taida olla täällä kuvia.

I'll start with an outfit photo. I was in a big hurry so I talked while this picture was taken, hence the derp face.. The shirt is second hand, I featured a couple of posts ago but this is what it looks like on. The skirt is one of the first ones I ever made, but I don't think I have photos of it here. 

Aloitetaan taobao-tilauksella. Tämä punainen paita on himpun iso mutta siinä on selässä kiristysnyöritys, joka parantaa istuvuutta. Väri on alemmassa kuvassa oikeampi, mutta tämä on vielä pikkaisen tuummemman punainen. En perusta Peter Pan kauluksia, joten puran sen ehkä pois ja teen tästä pystykauluksisen. Saa nähdä. Muuten kyllä todella hyvä paita.

Let's start with the taobao order. This red shirt is a tiny bit too big, but the back has lacing so this fits well. The colour is more closer in the lower picture, but it's still a bit darker red. I'm not too fond of Peter Pan collars, so I may take it apart and make it a small stand-up collar. We'll see. Otherwise a really good shirt.

Tämä oli Naantalissa päällä <3 Takana on pienet hännykset, ja rintataskun kirjailu on kaunis. Napeissa on kruunujen kuvat ja pitsit ovat upeita, tämä paita nousi heti suosikkien joukkoon!

I wore this to Naantali <3 The back has small swallow tails and the embroidery on the pocket is beautiful. The buttons have tiny crowns and the laces are gorgeous, this is instantly one of my favourite shirts!

Tämä ei ehkä ole lolitaa mutta hieno silti. Pelkäsin että helman pitsi (mikä siis tulee tasaisesti näkyviin, se on kuvassa rutussa) olisi hirveää mutta yllätyin positiivisesti! Vyötäröosa on syönyt kunnin luut, ja nyörityksen asiosta tämä istuu hyvin. Hame ei ihan yllä polviin asti, mutta koska tämä ei tule lolitaan, se ei haittaa. Kangas on ihana <3

This may not be lolita but it's still pretty. I was worried that the lace at the hem (which comes out evenly, the picture is bad) would be horrible but I was positively surprised! The waist part has good bones and the lacing insures a good fit. The skirt doesn't quite come to my knees, but since it's not for lolita, I don't mind. The fabric is gorgeous <3

Valkoharmaa-raidallinen paita, mikä on juuri oikean kokoinen. Tykkän tuosta kauluksesta, ja raidalliset paidat puhuttelee mua. Merkki Madonna. Olen tästä oikeasti innoissani!

A white and grey striped blouse, which is precisely my size. I like that collar, and striped shirts speak to me. Brand is Madonna. I'm really exited about this one!

Musta läpikuultava paita, missä on ihanan pitkät hihat. Merkki KappAhl ja koko 40, eli tätä pitää ottaa melkoisesti sisään mutta pidän tästä materiaalista. Saan tehtyä tästä jotain.

Black see-through shirt with lovely long sleeves. Brand KappAhl size 40 so I'll have to take this in quite much but I like the material. I can work with this.

Tuunausjuttuja, näistä saa vaikka mitä kivaa. Itse tekemisessä on sekin hyvä puoli että kangasta jää aina vähän yli, mistä saa sitten rusetteja ja muita koristeita tehtyä ^^

DYI stuff, I can make all kinds of cool things from these. Another perk to making clothes yourself is that you always have some excess fabric, and you can make bows and other accessories from it ^^
